Outside Terrace With Hot Tub Yorkshire Holiday Home

Welcome to West Acre: One of Our Large Holiday Homes

We are pleased to be introducing West Acre our first large holiday home; this luxury cottage will be sure to make any break special and create memories that will last a lifetime. West Acre has been kitted out with everything that you could possibly need to have a luxurious break including a hot tub, sauna and cinema room. The cottage is perfect for large groups as it can sleep up to 16 people (in 7 bedrooms) so you can make sure that everyone can join in the celebration, it is great for children of all ages and even welcomes your four-legged friends.

Entertainment, Entertainment, Entertainment

At West Acre you will always be entertained as the home has been built and designed with entertainment in mind. We will first make our way to the main living room that has three large sofas, a large oak table, a 52-inch 4K TV with high quality sound bar that connects to the Sonos sound system, You View TV box and a wood burning stove to make sure everyone stays cosy and warm even in the winter months. The living room is a great place for everyone to get together to socialise, play one of our huge selection of family board games or relax and put your feet up in front of the TV.

In the second living room you will find more entertainment with a PS4 and Xbox 360 with a selection of games to play. You can also take a trip down memory lane listening to the vintage vinyl collection on the record player.

One of the features our guests love most is the cinema room. We have made sure that this provides a fabulous near cinema experience with a high-quality projector and amazing sound from the surround sound speakers, I think it’s time to crack open the popcorn. The cinema room also has comfy seating and a large library of films that are suitable for all audiences. Whether it’s a romcom or an action-packed epic you’re sure find something to make this your own perfect movie experience.

There’s nothing like a bit of friendly competition so why not play a game of pool on the full-size pool table that also flips over to be a large dining room table. You can also enjoy a game of table tennis on the outdoor patio area or croquet on the lawn.

It’s Time for A Bit of Relaxation and Pampering

After all the fun and entertainment on offer has tired you out you can be sure that there are plenty of luxurious relaxation facilities so that you can use during your break. The south west facing first floor terrace is a great area for relaxing and socialising, it has a hot tub, sun loungers, sofa and breath-taking country views that really show off the beauty of the area (you may even be able to spot some of the local wildlife). There is also an indoor Swedish sauna, so go on, pamper yourself, go on you deserve it.

To enjoy the facilities, robes and slippers are provided for all guests so that you can have a comfortable night (or day) relaxing and spending time with family and friends before settling down in front of the wood burning stove.

Let’s Get Cooking

Love cooking? Great, because West Acre has a state of the art kitchen with a modern and clean finish look that will mean you can enjoy your cooking whether you are a novice chef or a professional. The kitchen comes with everything a chef would need including a large induction hob that is in the centre island, a pop-up extractor fan, a large oven, a standard oven, microwave, steam oven, warming drawers, two fridges one of which being an American style fridge that has been fitted with a water and ice dispenser, coffee machine, boiling water tap, dishwasher and 2 sinks.

There are two main indoor eating areas that can be used, the kitchen dining table will seat 8 people and the main dining room contains a large 12-seater table that is perfect for any family and friend’s meal, but before you settle down to eat how about a visit to the honesty gin bar for a cheeky pre-dinner gin cocktail. The dining room has a very fresh yet relaxed modern interior that will add to the atmosphere of your meal. The kitchen and dining room are also fitted with the Sonos sound system ceiling speakers, so you can also listen to some tunes while cooking and eating.

Out in the Garden

The beautiful landscaped garden at West Acre is the perfect place for your family and friends to relax and spend quality time with each other. West Acre sits in a one-acre plot, close to the centre of the village yet is remarkably private and secluded.  Outside West Acre has so much for all to enjoy. Alfresco eating areas, outdoor games (including croquet, giant Jenga, basketball, rounders and table tennis), a gas BBQ, a fire pit and climbing frame for children; it’s also a great place for the family dog as there is lots of space to run and play. The outdoor patio is kitted out with everything that you would need for a sumptuous alfresco feast, the outdoor eating area sits 16 people around a huge outdoor table, you can then retire to the gorgeous African hut which sits a minimum of 12 with its own power, lighting and even a heater should a chill set in.  Everyone can enjoy a meal, or a drink surrounded by the natural beauty of the garden.

The Local Are

West Acre is located in the typically Yorkshire village of Wistow, it has a great village pub, a stunning church, a village green and pond and even a quaint village Chippie. For the kids there is a play area, football fields and a skateboard park. The village is surrounded by great Yorkshire rural countryside and there are plenty of walks and bike rides surrounding us.

Within 2 minutes’ drive is the neighbouring village of Cawood, slightly bigger with three pubs a two-lovely café’s, or why not try neighbouring Scalm Park with its 18-hole golf course and driving range.

The village is only 13 miles south of York and 24 miles from Leeds. There is local bus route to York from the village. The nearest town of Selby is 3 miles away and has all the main supermarkets as well as a number of bars and local restaurants, the Abbey in Selby is one of the hidden Gems of Yorkshire.

Whilst officially in North Yorkshire, Wistow is very close to the point where the three counties of Yorkshire meet so is a perfect spot for exploring the many delights Yorkshire has to offer

The cities of York and Leeds are stuffed full of tourist attractions including the National Railway museum, the Royal Armouries and the Jorvik Viking centre. You can choose between walking around the medieval streets York with its crooked streets, spectacular Minster and city walls to the cosmopolitan shopping and restaurants of Leeds, otherwise known as the cocktail capital of the North.

Apart from the main cities there are plenty of other things to do, our favourites would include;

A cultural trip round Yorkshire’s sculpture triangle including the new award-winning Hepworth gallery in nearby Wakefield, walking around the Yorkshire sculpture park then finishing off at the Henry Moore institute in Leeds.

If Country houses are your thing you cannot do better than Castle Howard, the setting of Brideshead revisited or it could be a trip with the kids to the high adrenaline rides at Flamingo Land, seeing he animals at the Yorkshire wildlife park or the indoor skiing slopes at xscape.

If the countryside is your thing then there is plenty to see, Wistow is on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds or a short drive from the North Yorkshire moors or the towns and sites of the Yorkshire coast.
