Dog Friendly Accommodation

As dog owners ourselves, we know just how important it is to find truly dog friendly accomodation. At West Acre we roll out the red carpet and welcome up to four well behaved dogs (more on request).

With beautiful countryside walks on the doorstep and dedicated dog facilities it’s the perfect place for a dog friendly stay in Yorkshire.

 

Plenty of Space to Stretch the Paws

Our large, enclosed and is a great space for dogs to explore and play. We always note whilst the garden is spacious it is not fully dog secure, meaning an intrepid explorer can find escape routes. Whilst there is a gate that can be closed at the top of the drive, we advise that dogs outside are always watched.

 

Bring Your Dogs to West Acre

We charge a small fee of £20 per dog to cover extra cleaning costs. Assistance dogs are always welcome free of charge.

If you have any other requests about your pets, please let us know and we will do everything we can to help.

Facilities We Provide for our Four-legged Friends

  • A ‘doggie welcome basket’ with spare bowls, feeding mat, poo bags, special dog towels
  • A dedicated dog wash station near the back door with a dog bath and hot and cold mixer tap to get the perfect temperature for your dog
  • A cannister full of doggie treats
  • A special bin for dog poo bags
  • Dog throws for your dog to lie on (all will be freshly washed prior to your arrival)
  • 2 Dog beds available if required (1 large and 1 medium)
  • A spare lead
  • A selection of dog toys

Our Dog Rules at West Acre

  • All dogs must be booked by prior agreement and recorded on the booking details
  • All dogs staying at West Acre must be fully house trained
  • Dogs are not allowed upstairs or on any of the beds. (We can put up a stairgate at the bottom of the stairs if requested)
  • We prefer dogs not to go on the furniture, but we know if they do at home it’s difficult to stop them when they are away, if your dogs do go on the furniture please use the dog throws provided
  • We request that any waste deposited in the garden is picked up and tied in a poo bag, please put all poo bags in the special dog poo bin provided
  • If you bring a muddy dog back to West Acre after a walk, please clean them off using the outside dog wash station. Please use the towels provided with the dog basket for drying your dogs.
  • Please never use any of the white or grey towels provided for human use for drying dogs.
  • We are in a rural environment and respectfully ask that you please follow the countryside code and keep dogs under control and on a lead when walking in the local countryside.
Unfortunately, if there is any damage caused by dogs or any additional cleaning required (especially in the dog free areas) we reserve the right to potentially impose a fee to cover this cost.

My family and I used West Acre for a 30th birthday celebration weekend, which turned into an engagement celebration! The house was perfect for what we needed – everything was taken into account and the thoughtful details like a doggy welcome basket and baby/toddler changing station were so thoughtful. This was our third stay here at West Acre and won’t be our last. The house is great, Vicki, Jeff and Nathan have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable, even including dog beds and bowls for your pooch! Really well equipped and the perfect place for a special multi-generational family celebration. They let you take your pampered pooches with you too! We wouldn’t hesitate to book west acre again and can’t recommend it highly enough.

Another great weekend at West Acre

It is spotlessly clean, had loads to keep everyone off all ages entertained with pool table, games room, hot tub, sauna and cinema room. Really well equipped and the perfect place for a special multi-generational family celebration. They let you take your pampered pooches with you too! We wouldn’t hesitate to book west acre again and can’t recommend it highly enough.

An amazing stay. The house has everything you could ever need, perfect for all ages

Staying at West Acre was an absolute delight! From the moment we checked in, we were greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The thoughtful gesture of the cake and ‘Happy Birthday’ sign for my dad made our celebration even more special. We also appreciated the beautiful garden, which not only provided a serene setting but also delighted our dog with its space and various fruit offerings.

Best weekend away!

Wow! What a fabulous house and superb hosts – we couldn’t have asked for anything more! From the offset Jeff and Vicki were helpful, engaging and really friendly. The house had literally everything – baby change (inc products), toys, high chairs etc. Even the doggies had a treat box! All of my friends were blown away by how convenient they had made the house.

Simply fabulous! 12 of us, plus two German Shepherds, have just enjoyed an amazing weekend here to celebrate our Dad’s 80th birthday! Jeff, Vicki and Nathan could not do enough for us, both before and during our stay, and even afterwards as well! West Acre is a wonderful, beautifully presented property, with plenty of space both indoors and outdoors for group gatherings.
