Although you may not want to leave West Acre during your stay there are plenty of family friendly activities within 20 minutes of West Acre. If you are interested in getting out of the house for a few hours here are 5 of our favourites.
- Wistow Village Hall
If you aren’t wanting to drive then Wistow Village Hall can be found just a 10 minute walk away from West Acre. At the village hall you will find a lovely well maintained playground for the smaller children, a sports field with permanent football goals and small skate park which is located at the back of The Village Hall. If you like tennis the village hall is also home to a tennis court which can be booked out with a visitor pass.
- Elmet Alpacas
We are so lucky to have this wonderful family run business just 10 minutes from West Acre. Elmet Alpacas is based on a working farm and as soon as you arrive and meet Sam or any of the staff you feel that you have landed in a tranquil, wholesome place. The treks with the Alpacas will take about an hour with an opportunity to take photos with you new friend. Along with trekking there is a cosy tearoom on site.
- Selby Superbowl
Selby Superbowl is about 10 minutes from West Acre. It is an independent venue which provides Ten Pin Bowling and a Lazer Zone at a very reasonable price. We would recommend booking through their website prior to visiting as on weekend evenings it can get quite busy.
- The Painting Pot
A warm and friendly welcome awaits at this cosy little pottery painting studio in Selby. It’s fun, it’s easy and it’s a fab place to relax and enjoy a creative activity with family and friends. Tables can be booked for a 2 hour session through their website with help on hand to offer any support your group might need. You’ll be able to choose from a number of different items to paint making for a great family activity.
- Kinsmen
Kinsmen Activity Centre is about a 20-minute drive from West Acre near Skipwith Common. This may be one for older children who are looking for something fun and exciting to do. The activity centre has three activities on offer which are axe throwing, air rifle shooting and archery. The sessions are informative, with experienced instructors, and fun with friendly competitive challenges and games to suit all abilities.
