Facilities for Babies, Children & Teenagers

When the kids are happy, everyone is happy.
Families Welcome

As we have brought up 5 children, we know just how important it is to keep the younger members of the group happy and entertained. At West Acre we have provided numerous facilities to keep the younger members of the group and their parents entertained, happy, safe and relaxed.

Remembering just how much equipment the smallest members of our family need, with our baby package we have tried to make available more than just the basics you would expect. All the facilities below are available  to all guests. Just let us know what you would like us to leave out for you (all free of charge) and on this break the parents may even be able to fit some of their own stuff in the car. All equipment provided is up to date with the latest safety requirements.

Babies and Toddlers Package at West Acre

  • One or two travel cots (linen not provided)
  • One moses basket (linen not provided)
  • One or two high chairs
  • One or two booster seats/floor activity seats
  • Changing station including changing mat and emergency supplies (nappies, nappy bags, soother, muslin squares, sudocream, baby lotion, baby bubbles, bottle cleaner, wipes)
  • One Baby Bouncer chair with washable cover (this is washed every time it is used)
  • Large foldable wipeable foam play mat
  • Wooden baby gym
  • Plastic cups plates and bowls with baby/toddler cutlery
  • Steriliser
  • One Baby monitor
  • Baby bath
  • None slip bath mat
  • Nappy bin (Please put nappy bags in the dog waste bin, this is by the other bins, it is labelled and will have a bin liner in it).
  • Toilet/sink step and toilet training seat
  • Potty
  • Bedtime books
  • Brio trains and track for indoors
  • Outdoor ‘happy tracks’ road and car play kit
  • Baby swing can be attached to the play area
  • There is a fixed stairgate at the top of the stairs and another is available for the bottom of the stairs if required. There is a lockable stairgate at the stop of the outside terrace stairs.
  • Fireguard for the log burning stove
  • If required we will remove all lower level cleaning materials and place them on the worksurface in the utility room (we have unfortunately tried but failed to find reliable cupboard locks)
  • Safety corners – let us know if you want them popping on the obvious corners of sharp edged furniture, we will also leave a spare supply .
  • Plug covers – we will leave a supply these for you to use if you wish

Children and Teenagers

When the kids are happy and occupied everyone else can be happy and relax, we have the following available at West Acre.
  • A large garden (Mostly laid to grass) where children are welcome to run and play, there is also a small woodland area. All we ask is that children do not play in the border areas.
  • A designated play area set so it is in full view of the outdoor patio area. The play area was chosen so it conforms to the latest safety requirements and the platform levels are a maximum 1.4M from floor level. The play area has been sited so it has the required open distance around for the swings and slide. However, we do ask that small children playing on the play area are always monitored by a responsible adult.
  • A playhouse with games and toys
  • Table tennis table (inc bats, net and balls)
  • Giant Jenga game
  • Rounder’s set
  • Full size pool table. We ask that children below teenage using the pool table are not left unattended.
  • A second living room snug area, in here there are two games consoles and controllers (PlayStation 4 and Xbox 360).
  • A separate large cinema room with facility to plug in a streaming device as well as play any DVD’s you wish to bring.
  • Selection of children’s books
  • A selection of family board games to suit a variety of ages.

The cinema room was a big hit with the kids, as was the rounders, croquet, table tennis, and what about the pool table/dining table. Not forgetting the hot tub and sauna, which went down well with everyone. Every little detail has been thoughtfully considered, it soon became home from home.

Family Birthday Celebration

10th June 2024
It’s a gorgeous property which was huge but also managed to feel cosy and comfortable too. The bedrooms were beautifully decorated, with the added luxury of all having en-suites upstairs. We went as a group of 4 families with teenage children, .who were delighted with the cinema room, the pool table, the hot tub, sauna and the snug. It couldn’t have been better equipped.

Fantastic 50th Birthday Celebration House

20th December 2023
Whilst at west acre we celebrated a 70th birthday with all of our family ranging from aged 2 to 75! Wow, what a beautiful place to stay. From the very start of the booking process nothing was ever too much trouble for jeff and vicki and this continued throughout our stay – perfect hosts!! Having a baby is stressful without trying to pack the whole house up to take with you however, at West Acre everything was catered for – cot, stair gates, cutlery, toys even a changing station with spare nappies, wipes, creams etc! They really have thought about providing everything, talk about above and beyond!! The teenagers loved the games room and the table tennis.

The most amazing weekend had by all

From the offset Jeff and Vicki were helpful, engaging and really friendly. They went above and beyond to help us plan our trip, sending details of golf courses, spas and kids activities. They also went to great lengths to ensure we were perfectly catered to for the 4 x kids (under 4!) and 2 x babies in the group. The house had literally everything – baby change (inc products), toys, high chairs etc. Even the doggies had a treat box!

Couldn’t have asked for more

I would highly recommend staying here. We had a lovely time and the family who run it couldn’t have been more helpful. The house is so well equipped with not only the basics but additional thoughtful things that I haven’t found elsewhere. So much to do in the house & grounds. Jeff even tailored an Easter egg hunt for the 6 kids staying at the house. The place was beautifully clean and comfortable.
