It’s our final week of January maintenance before our first guests arrive next week!💪

Unfortunately this week we found our boiling water tap was leaking. We’ve ordered a new one to be fitted next week as well as a few end panels that need a freshen up🚰

We’ve also been busy with plenty of other jobs such as fresh paint, carpet cleaning, organising our laundry cupboard and preparing every room — we’re getting the holiday home guest-ready for 2026

There’s always so much that goes on behind the scenes, and every year we want to make West Acre better than the last

Are you looking for some day trips during your stay at West Acre?

The most popular activities we get asked about by guests are about local walks and day trips to York. There are so many great walks in the local area including some right on the doorstep, our favourite is the Cawood horseshoe🚶

We are also lucky enough to only be a 30 minute drive from the beautiful city of York. York is home to loads of great attractions, bars and restaurants which we can help advise you on🍽️

Another great activity nearby is Pool Bridge Farm for some open water swimming. They have numerous lakes and are even open during the winter for the more adventurous among you🏊
